#2) Take the stairs
Ok this one is a popular one that we hear over and over. However, in my condo building of over 70 units (approximately 140 people) I'm usually the only one in the stairwell (that's only because the elevator is slow but you get the point).
It only takes a few minutes and every little bit helps. Try building in one or two flights a day and you'll be astonished at the little changes you'll notice in your legs (and body).
#3) Make your dog happy
If you have a dog, Rover will probably be beside himself with joy if you extend his walk for 5 or 10 minutes today. It gives you extra exercise and means he won't have to take his frustrations out on your new leather purse.
#4) Take a multivitamin
Soda, chocolate, cake, cookies, chips...hey I like junk food as much as the next girl but all of these have little to NIL nutritional value. Your body needs it from somewhere so make sure you get a high quality multivitamin if you're still recovering from the junk food Christmas overload.
#5) Include a salad with one of your meals
If you're new to the whole, healthy eating thing, then break your body in slowly. Have your regular meal but include a green salad with it as well.
Vegetables add practically no extra calories (but watch the dressing). And the multitude of nutrients, antioxidants and vitamins you get will do your body good!
Those are 5 easy things you can do today to improve your health. Hey, every little bit helps!
#1) Drink more water
Dehydration can slow the metabolism by up to 4%. People who are chronically dehydrated burn less fat - all other things being equal.
Water facilitates bodily processes so it makes sense that when you drink up, you feel more energetic.
Plus, when you're thirsty you can easily mistake this feeling for hunger and end up overeating.
